Financial Aid

St. Camillus is committed to making Catholic education possible for as many children as possible.

We believe that Catholic education is a unique ministry that has the ability to change lives. We desire make the Catholic education available at St. Camillus school a possibility for as many children as possible.

We know that as parents work to provide a solid formation for their children, there are many costs and options that can make Catholic education seem too costly to pursue. This is especially true for families who may be financial struggling.

Our community strives to make St. Camillus an affordable option using two approaches:

1. We work to provide the highest quality education with the most services possible at a streamlined cost. To accomplish this we utilize many different resources including volunteers, partnerships with outside organizations, grant seeking, participation in federal, state, and local funding and support programs, and old-fashioned efficiency.

2. We work to provide as much financial aid and assistance as possible. Each year the member of St. Camillus Catholic Church, the Archdiocese of Washington, and The Shepherd Foundation provide considerable financial support that is used to provide direct financial aid to families in need. St. Camillus Church also provides a subsidy to help support members of the parish afford the cost of St. Camillus School tuition. And, each year the families of St. Camillus School participate in fundraising efforts that help to ensure that all families can afford our Catholic education.

Required Volunteer Service

We believe that St. Camillus School is a gift passed on to us from prior generations of parents, sisters, students, and parishioners who founded our community and sustained for generations through the use of time, talent, and treasure.

We are called to continue that stewardship to ensure that St. Camillus will be able to minister to current and future generations. Because our community requires much more than money to operate, all families are required to provide volunteer service each year to support the school.

Financial Aid for Families in Need

Many families struggle to send their children to Catholic schools and so we make financial assistance available from several sources. In order to be considered for any financial aid, families must complete an aid application (the PSAS form).

Please download a copy of the PSAS form, complete it according to the attached instructions, and submit it by the due date. You will receive a statement listing the financial aid available to your family by late spring.

Financial Grants

St. Camillus offers two financial assistance programs that are not based upon a families specific financial need. These two grant programs are designed to help families with specific characteristics afford St. Camillus School.

> The Parish Grant Program
Each child who is a member of a family that are active parishioners of St. Camillus Church receive a parish grant. Families must meet participation requirements set by the pastor to qualify.

> The Family Grant Program
St. Camillus is pro-life and we desire to celebrate families with multiple children. We provide specific grants for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th children in families with multiple children enrolled in the school. While this grant is not based on need, completion of the PSAS form is necessary to receive this grant.
